Richmond Center for the Visual Arts Western Michigan University April 28th-June 24th, 2011
In this exhibition I have selected paintings from the last two decades. These paintings are abstract and expand on ideas of caricature and satire that have been prevalent in my work for years. By sharing my retirement exhibition with an alumnus I wanted in some way to acknowledge those former art students who have worked with me in my classroom or in my studio. Rick Mallette worked as both my teaching and studio assistant. Our work, although different in style, share similar outlooks. Frequented by eccentric, gullible and anatomically deviant characters, these paintings seek to illustrate and continue to celebrate human folly.
